100 Innovative Blogs for Education

This blog is honored to be included in the list (at #57) of 100 Most Inspiring and Innovative Blogs for Educators, especially because I’ve been kind of bad about posting during my dissertation writing.  In addition to the “big-name” blogs on the list (can’t believe this blog is on a list with the TED videos) there are some blogs that I’ve never seen before.

I think it’s important to browse lists like this because you can find pockets of wisdom that would otherwise go unnoticed.  During my dissertation research, I found the most important research literature (after reading about 150 papers) by continuing to follow reference lists back to other references.  At some point, I hit on a pocket of research that was rarely cited in the U.S., but incredibly valuable.

Even passive social networks (like reference lists in a journal article or a collection of blogs) can be an incredible way to learn.

    Congrats, a placement well earned!

And you could always post about your dissertation, so it will feel like you’re working on it at the same time. :)

My blogging is unfortunately too random and subject to my personal whims to be award winning, but I’d like to think I’d make Best Dressed or perhaps the baking category.
